Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Parts - These parts are made by the same manufacturers that make many of the Genuine Landrovers parts but are manufactured to there own specifications and boxed in there own packaging. Examples are Lucas, Bosch, and Wabco. In many cases the quality is acceptable and there can be some cost savings.
Aftermarket Parts - These parts are offered by manufactures who are completely independent from Landrover. The design and specifications for these parts are often reverse engineered from a genuine Landrover part. The low cost of these parts is the main advantage. Additionally, there are aftermarket parts built for Landrovers which are an improvement, usually performance items and vehicle accessories.
